The Master’s Degree in Development and International Cooperation is an official master’s programme recognised in all the European space for higher education, which focuses on the problem of rural development in the countries of the so-called Third World. The Master’s Degree counts on the presence of an important percentage of invited international professors of recognised academic prestige.

It is organised by the University of Lleida (UdL) in collaboration with the Latin American Faculty of Social Sciences (FLACSO), in Ecuador. This collaboration allows FLACSO students to validate subjects so that they can obtain a European degree, with the objective that UdL students will gain admittance to a FLACSO degree in the future. The collaboration between FLACSO and UdL makes it possible to share subjects and teachers through video conference and the intensive use of the new communication technologies, which guarantees the semi-distance learning basis of the Master’s Degree. That is, each subject will mean 20 hours of afternoon face-to-face compulsory lessons. The rest of the personal work required for each subject will be developed through a virtual campus.

Two academic profiles are offered: One of them is research-oriented and the other one is oriented to professionalisation in the rural development field, both specialized in Local and rural development: policies and strategies.
